At the beginning of the choir's 40th anniversary year, choir members past and present pooled their individual collections of programmes to try and create a list of concerts performed during the 40 years of the choir's existence. We found additional material in personal diaries, in Bournemouth Music Library, through speaking to members of the original Bournemouth Sinfonietta chamber orchestra and committee minutes. The result has become a welcome addition to the choir archive. We have what appears to be an almost complete record of every piece sung at every concert since the choir was first establlished in 1972! Inevitably, we suspect there may be omissions - some early 'a cappella' concerts had no printed programme and items were announced during the course of the concert. We would be pleased to hear from anyone who has spotted a gap and has the evidence to fill it.
The aim is to update this list yearly.
We hope you find some ideas here that will be of interest in your programme planning!
