Shepherds take centre-stage in much of this concert of festive music, with lilting pastoral pieces by Telemann and Durante. The story of Mary is told by Michael Haydn, the equally talented brother of Joseph, and by Isabella Leonarda, one of the most accomplished female composers of the Baroque.
Jubilant settings of In Dulci Jubilo round off the programme.
Sinfonietta Players will dazzle with their virtuosic playing.
