Written in 1915 at a time of turmoil and amid the shock of war, Rachmaninov turned to the choral heritage of the Orthodox church and created one of the most awe-inspiring vocal masterpieces.

Milton Abbey, with its resonant acoustic, is the perfect setting for a performance of Rachmaninov's sublime Vespers.

This is an afternoon concert without an interval.
